IG Arrives Lagos, As Police Deploys Personnel, Machinery for Buhari’s Visit

In preparation for President Muhammadu Buhari’s maiden official tour of Lagos, the state Police Command has said it has deployed ample personnel and adequate machinery to ensure a hitch-free visit during the two-day sojourn.

The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, had on Sunday  afternoon arrived Lagos to iron out any last minute hitches ahead of the president’s visit.

This was confirmed by the state Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, who said,  “We are very prepared to welcome the president and ensure that traffic issues are curtailed during his stay in Lagos.

“We are deploying all we have to ensure that the visit is hitch-free. We are adequately prepared and we are working with other security agencies to ensure this.”

THISDAY gathered that ahead of the visit, the Lagos State Government has released a traffic guide, which it said, would help its residents to review their travel plans between Monday and Tuesday to avoid undue traffic congestion in the metropolis.

 A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde,  indicated that the president would inaugurate some landmark projects the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode had fully executed in its first year.
