Kaduna Electric Donates N10m to Kebbi Varsity for Renewable Energy Research

Kaduna Electric has donated N10,000,000 to the students of Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, for research into renewable energy.
The Managing Director/CEO of the company, Mr. Garba Haruna, made the announcement while being conferred with the Man of the Year award by the Senior Staff Association of the University.

Haruna expressed the appreciation of the management of Kaduna Electric for the honour done to him and the company by the senior staff association and revealed that Kaduna Electric would partner all educational and research institutes in the country to achieve sustainable development in the power sector.

in his address, the Vice Chancellor of university, Prof. B.S Malami, disclosed that the award was conferred on the managing director and other recipients and Indigenes of Kebbi State who have contributed immensely to the development of the state in particular and the nation at large.
He also urged the recipients to continue to be role models to the upcoming generation.

In a keynote address, Prof. B.G Dan Shehu of the Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto,  in his paper titled “Renewable Energy and Technologies for National Development” described renewable energy as the bedrock of 21st  century energy development.

He said developed countries are now enjoying the benefits of renewable energy in almost all aspects of their lives and called the attention of the government to give a helping hand to the development of renewable energy to the state and Nigeria at large.
The other recipients of the award include Senator Muhammadu Adamu Aliero, Lt. Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi, Prof. Muhammadu Attahiru Jega. Prof. M.K Abubakar, Salamatu Hussaini, Prof. Tijjani Bande, Hon. Abdullahi Muslim, Alh. Abubkar Umar Warrah, Alhaji Muhammad Kwaido, Justice Umar Atu Kalgo and Kebbi Development Forum.
