El- Rufai Condoles with Kataf People Over Death of Paramount Ruler

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has condoled with the Atyap Traditional Council, Zangon Kataf local government area of the state, over the death of its paramount traditional ruler, the Agwatyap II, Dr. Harrison Yusuf Bungon.

Bungon, a first class chief, died last week following a brief illness at the age of 67.

The Governor, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan, described the late Bungon as an astute traditional ruler and a bridge builder who died when his services are greatly needed in moving the state forward.

“I received with shock the news of the passage of His Royal Highness, Dr. Harrison Yusuf Bungon, the Agwatyap II, who died after a brief illness.

The State has lost an astute traditional ruler, a gentleman to the core with a long history of service and dedication to the cause of humanity and peace.

“He was a pillar and a rallying point in our quest for a better Kaduna State. Dr. Bungon took on the responsibility of building bridges and he distinguished himself beyond expectations in that noble quest” the governor was quoted in the statement.

The statement stressed that the late traditional ruler represented humility and sincerity and will be missed, especially his advocacy for peace and togetherness, and his willingness to bring people together.
