Baker Homes, the real estate development and property investment arm of Baker Industries Limited, has signed Nollywood actor Jide Awobona as a brand partner ahead of the official launch of Mint Court Phase 2, a 10-acre development scheduled for September 26, 2026.

The partnership is part of the company’s strategy to expand its engagement with prospective property buyers and bring conversations around property ownership to a wider audience through strategic partnerships.

Speaking during the signing, the General Manager of Baker Industries Limited, Kingsley Ifoga, said the decision to work with Awobona was based on the alignment between the actor’s public image and the values the company seeks to communicate.

“At Baker Industries Limited, we believe that meaningful partnerships are built on shared values, mutual trust and a clear understanding of the long-term vision we seek to achieve,” Ifoga said.

He said Awobona’s familiarity with Nigerian audiences would help the company broaden conversations around property ownership beyond traditional real estate audiences.

“By bringing a respected Nollywood figure into the real estate conversation, we aim to bridge the gap between the entertainment industry and property ownership, making the conversation around real estate more relatable and accessible to a wider audience,” he said.

Also speaking during the signing, Baker Homes’ Head of Projects and Development, Olusegun Osundina, said the partnership would support the company’s efforts to build awareness around Mint Court Phase 2 ahead of its launch.
“At Baker Homes, our vision is simple: to make the dream of home ownership a reality for more Nigerians. We are not just selling land; we are building communities, creating opportunities and giving people a foundation on which to build their future,” Osundina said.

He said the decision to onboard Awobona reflected the company’s approach to strengthening the visibility and market reach of the development.

“From my experience in the real estate sector, I recognise that visibility must be supported by credibility, a compelling development proposition and a clear commitment to the buyer. That is the standard we continue to uphold at Baker Homes,” he said.

Awobona, who also spoke during the signing, said his decision to partner with Baker Homes followed consideration of the company’s values, operations and approach to property ownership.

“My decision to partner with Baker Homes is one I have approached with careful consideration and due diligence. Before associating with any brand, I believe it is important to understand its values, its operations and the commitment it demonstrates to the people it serves,” he said.

The actor said the partnership would give him an opportunity to encourage more people to consider property ownership and connect them with opportunities offered by Baker Homes.

“I believe that a successful partnership should be built on trust, shared purpose and the willingness to create value beyond the immediate engagement,” Awobona said.

The company said the agreement around Mint Court Phase 2 would form the initial stage of the relationship, with the possibility of developing the partnership into a longer-term engagement based on the outcome of the initial collaboration and mutual agreement.
