Aiyedatiwa Warns Against Anti-Party Activities as City Boy Unveils Ondo Exco

• Begins ward-to-polling unit mobilisation

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has warned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against anti-party activities, declaring that his administration would not tolerate actions capable of undermining the fortunes of the party ahead of the 2027 general election.

Aiyedatiwa issued the warning in Akure while declaring open the town hall meeting and inauguration of the Ondo State executive council of the City Boy Movement, charging the newly inaugurated executives to take their mobilisation to wards, polling units and communities across the state.

“Permit me to use this opportunity to reiterate for the umpteenth time our zero tolerance for anti-party activities. These will not be tolerated under any guise,” the governor said.

The governor who was represented by the state Chairman of APC, Babatunde Kolawole, directed the new executives and other APC members to work for the success of the party’s candidates across the presidential, National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections, urging the movement to deepen its engagement with voters at the grassroots.

“Let your members go into your various wards and units and canvass massively for Mr. President,” Aiyedatiwa said, as he tasked the City Boy Movement with taking the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the people at the grassroots.

The governor said the administration’s focus on youth participation was deliberate, given the potential of young people to contribute to economic growth, social development and good governance.

He highlighted some programmes of his administration, including the recruitment of more than 6,000 personnel to fill critical vacancies in the public service and the appointment of 1,000 political aides, saying the measures were aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery.

Aiyedatiwa also commended the national leadership of the City Boy Movement, particularly its Grand Patron, Seyi Tinubu, for providing a platform through which young people could participate actively in the political process.

Earlier, the State Director of the movement, Oluwafemi Ayejusunle, said the newly inaugurated executives would immediately commence the consolidation of the group’s grassroots structure across the state.

“What I intend to do after being inaugurated is to consolidate our structure to the grassroots level. We have three people per unit and we are consolidating our structure to ensure that our mandate is met,” Ayejusunle said.

He said the movement had commenced plans to strengthen its presence across the 18 local government areas, with mobilisation targeted at youths, women, markets, campuses and communities.

The APC South-West Youth Leader, Adesuyi Daramola, commended the Ondo chapter for its mobilisation efforts and participation of youths, professionals and grassroots members, saying the broad involvement had strengthened the movement.
