The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has been named the recipient of the “Infrastructure Minister of the Decade” special recognition award by the Abuja Real Estate & Property Awards.
The organisers announced the award yesterday at a press conference in Abuja, saying it was in recognition of Wike’s contributions to infrastructure development and urban renewal in the FCT over the past decade.
The Director of Event and Communications for the awards, Afam Okwuone, said the 2026 edition attracted 813 nominations across various categories before the screening and public voting processes were conducted.
“The Abuja Real Estate & Property Awards was established to celebrate excellence, innovation, and impact in the FCT real estate and property development sector,” Okwuone said.
He added that the recipients for the various categories had been selected following the completion of the organisers’ screening and voting processes.
The awards dinner is scheduled to hold on October 11, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, alongside an exhibition expected to bring together developers, investors and other stakeholders in the property sector.
The Chairman of the Governing Board, Amb. Dr. Oghogho Emore, said the event was intended to provide an avenue for stakeholders in the real estate industry to establish business relationships and explore opportunities for growth.
Among the firms shortlisted for the 2026 awards are Julius Berger Plc, Doun Global, Victoria Crest Homes, Cosgrove Ltd, Urban Shelter, Modern Shelter, Livebridge Group and MShel Ltd, among others.
