The producers of the highly anticipated feature film, Black Market, have unveiled the official poster ahead of its historic screening scheduled for September 26, 2026, at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.

The poster offers audiences an early glimpse into the world of the film as anticipation builds ahead of what is expected to be a record-setting cinematic event.

Written by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed and Fatimah Binta Gimsay, Black Market was directed by Gimsay and features an ensemble cast of prominent Nigerian actors, including Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Itele D Icon, Scarlet Gomez, Omowunmi Dada, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok and Uzor Arukwe.

Other members of the cast are Folagade Banks, Tomiwa Tegbe, Andrew Yaw Bunting, Shamz Garuba and Adeoluwa Akintoba.

The film is being produced in collaboration with Filmone Studios, Signet Ring Studios and Switch Visuals Production.

A major highlight of the September 26 event is the producers’ plan to host 50,000 people for a single screening at TBS as part of an official Guinness World Records attempt.

The organisers are seeking to surpass the current record of 43,000 people for the largest number of people to screen a film in a single location.

If successful, the screening would establish a new global record while placing Nigeria’s film industry and Lagos at the centre of an unprecedented cinematic gathering.

The event is being held in partnership with MTN, Puma, Swoop, PlaystreetNG, Oraimo, Shuttlers and the Lagos State Ministry of Culture.

With the unveiling of the official poster, attention now shifts towards the September 26 screening, which the organisers have positioned as a landmark moment for the Nigerian film industry.
