Forest Beat Aston Villa First Time in 32 Years 

Igor Jesus’ late winner earned Nottingham Forest their first victory at Aston Villa in 32 years and left the hosts still searching for a Premier League win.

The substitute stabbed in with two minutes left as Oliver Glasner’s side took a deserved win, the head coach’s first with Forest.

Liam Delap had earlier scored his first goal since January to open his Forest account after his £50m summer move from Chelsea.

Alysson levelled for Villa with their first Premier League goal of the season, but the hosts were second best for much of the game.

They could have opened the scoring when Victor Lindelof’s strike deflected off Murillo for Sels to turn it on to the post, with Murillo clearing straight to Lindelof – whose instinctive effort was blocked by the goalkeeper.

Yet it was a rare opening with Villa boss Unai Emery taking off £65m record signing Nicolas Jackson at half-time before Forest bossed the second half until Alysson’s leveller.

Emery has called for patience after Villa’s summer rebuild, but that will be tested after Jesus’ late winner.
