Truval Entertainment Unveils Plans for Teen Reality Show in Calabar

A Calabar-based entertainment company, Truval Entertainment and Lifestyle, has announced plans to launch a new reality television programme targeted at teenagers, with the maiden edition of the show expected to hold in November 2026.

The proposed programme, Big Teens Naija Reality TV Show, is designed for participants between the ages of 13 and 20, according to the organisers, who said it would combine entertainment with mentorship, entrepreneurship, technology and skills development.

The company said the show would be produced in Calabar, Cross River State, under the theme “Ingenuity of the African Child.”

According to documents provided by the organisers, the production has received a provisional licence from the Cross River State Tourism Bureau (Licence No. PR-060/25).

The planned format involves a nationwide audition process, selection of shortlisted contestants and a live-in competition where participants will take part in weekly challenges before a final winner emerges.

The organisers said the selection process would include a Top 60 stage before 30 contestants enter the reality house for the main competition.

They also stated that viewers would participate through voting mechanisms during the programme, although details of the final voting structure have not been fully disclosed.

The proposed show enters Nigeria’s reality television market at a time when existing formats have largely focused on adults and young adults.

While reality programmes such as Big Brother Naija and talent competitions have attracted large audiences over the years, there are currently limited nationally recognised formats created specifically around teenagers.

Truval Entertainment and Lifestyle said it hopes to create a platform where young Nigerians can showcase creativity, leadership abilities and entrepreneurial interests.

The company has announced Regina Omini as the host of the first season, describing her background in entertainment and youth advocacy as part of the reason for her selection.

The organisers have announced a prize structure for the competition. According to the proposal, the winner will receive ₦5 million in cash, a laptop, mentorship opportunities with industry professionals, skills-development support and possible scholarship or internship opportunities.

The second-place contestant is expected to receive ₦2 million and an iPad, while the third-place contestant will receive ₦1 million and a smartphone.

The organisers said the top three contestants would also receive media exposure as part of the reward package.

Questions remain over some aspects of the planned production, particularly broadcast partnerships and sponsorship.

The organisers have listed Africa Magic, Channels Television, SLTV, AIT, TVC and NTA highlights among platforms they hope to work with, while also planning digital distribution through YouTube and social media channels.

However, no formal broadcast agreement had been publicly announced as of the time of this report. Similarly, the production team is yet to unveil a major sponsor for the programme.

A sponsorship document seen by our correspondent outlines several partnership categories, including a proposed title sponsorship package valued at ₦100 million, alongside platinum, gold, silver and official partner options.

Sources close to the project said discussions were ongoing with potential corporate partners. The show’s judging structure has also not been made public.

The organisers have not announced members of a judging panel or explained whether contestants will be assessed through judges, audience voting or a combination of both.

The production team, however, said mentorship would form an important part of the programme, with participants expected to engage with professionals from different sectors.

Audition registration for the show opened in January 2026, while physical auditions are scheduled for September ahead of the proposed November premiere.

The organisers said interested applicants and parents can obtain further information through the show’s official communication channels.
