Entrepreneur Daniel Esho is expanding his business interests across technology, wellness and community development through a portfolio of ventures that includes PAYDY, the Áláfíà brand and the Áláfíà Foundation.

Esho, a graduate of Economics from the University of Lagos, said his entrepreneurial approach is centred on developing businesses that address practical needs while creating employment and economic opportunities.

“Anyone can start a business. What matters is whether it solves a real problem and creates real opportunities for people,” he said.

One of his ventures, PAYDY, operates in information technology and human resources. According to the company, it connects remote professionals with employers in the United States, Canada and Africa, supporting cross-border workforce opportunities.

Esho is also developing Áláfíà, a lifestyle brand inspired by the Yoruba concept of peace and wellbeing. The brand has introduced the Áláfíà Scarf as its first product, with plans to expand into additional lifestyle offerings.

He said work is also underway on the Áláfíà Documentary, a project expected to highlight the experiences of underserved communities and explore issues relating to opportunity, resilience and social development.

Through the Áláfíà Foundation, Esho said the organisation supports community-based initiatives focused on healthcare, youth development and economic empowerment. According to the foundation, one of its medical outreach programmes provided healthcare services to more than 200 people.

Before launching his current ventures, Esho founded MobiFood, an online food delivery platform, in 2017. Although the business did not achieve its intended objectives, he said the experience influenced his approach to entrepreneurship.

He later introduced Antena, an advertising platform that uses privately owned vehicles as mobile advertising spaces.

Esho also disclosed that he is developing a ready-to-drink beverage business as part of efforts to diversify his entrepreneurial portfolio.

According to him, his long-term focus remains on building businesses and initiatives that combine commercial growth with employment generation and community development.
