Faith Without Wisdom Leaves People Spiritually Inspired but Practically Struggling.
For readers meeting you for the first time, can you introduce yourself?
I am the Founder and Lead Minister of Magen Covenant Ministry.
I come from Nnobi in Anambra State, Nigeria.Late elder Daniel Chukwuanugo Ochiagha and late Mother Roseline Ochiagha”.
I am happily married to my wonderful wife, Mary, who is from Cameroon, and together we are blessed with four wonderful children.
Before answering God’s call into full-time ministry, I was actively involved in business and entrepreneurship. Those years taught me discipline, leadership, resilience and the importance of solving problems for people.
That experience shaped one of my strongest convictions—that faith and wisdom must always work together.
A believer should not only know how to pray but should also know how to think, lead, build, create value and become a blessing to society.
Tell us about your ministry journey. Was becoming a minister always your dream?
Honestly, no.
Like many people, I had my own plans. My background was in business, and I enjoyed entrepreneurship.
However, God gradually redirected my life.
I served faithfully within the Sabbath movement for many years and eventually became the Deputy General Overseer.
Those years were a school of leadership, service and spiritual growth.
After years of prayer, studying the Scriptures and seeking God’s direction, I received a clear conviction that God was calling me into a new assignment.
In April 2025, Magen Covenant Ministry was born.
It was not established because I wanted to start another ministry. It was born because I believed God was calling me to create a place where people could encounter Him through prayer, Scripture, discipleship and practical wisdom.
Why the name “Magen Covenant Ministry”?
The word “Magen” is a Hebrew word meaning “Shield.”
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly reveals Himself as the Shield of His people.
The word “Covenant” reminds us that God’s relationship with His people is built upon His everlasting promises.
Our ministry exists to remind people that God still protects, still guides and still keeps His covenant with those who sincerely seek Him.
Everything we do flows from that understanding.
Your slogan says, “God Hears. God Answers.” Why did you choose those words?
Because they describe the God we serve.
Many people pray only when life becomes difficult.
Others have stopped praying because they believe Heaven is silent.
Our assignment is to remind people that God still hears sincere prayers and still answers according to His perfect wisdom and timing.
Prayer should never become our last option.
It should become our daily lifestyle.
That is why daily prayer is one of the foundations of our ministry.
Your ministry places strong emphasis on the Torah. Why?
The Torah simply means God’s instruction.
Many people want to know God, but they begin reading the Bible in the middle of the story.
We encourage people to begin from the beginning.
The Torah reveals God’s character, His wisdom, His covenant and His purpose for humanity.
When people understand the foundation, they understand the rest of Scripture much better.
We encourage members to ask questions, study deeply and seek understanding rather than merely accepting traditions without examination.
Why is the Sabbath important in your ministry?
The Sabbath is one of God’s greatest gifts to humanity.
It was established by God at creation before there was any nation or denomination.
For us, the Sabbath begins at Friday sunset and continues until Saturday sunset.
During that sacred time, we intentionally slow down, worship God, spend quality time with family, study the Scriptures, pray and reflect.
In today’s busy world, many people are exhausted.
The Sabbath reminds us that our worth is found in our relationship with God, not merely in how busy we are.
What makes your ministry different from many others today?
We believe ministry should transform every area of life.
If someone grows spiritually but cannot lead a family well, manage finances wisely or contribute positively to society, then our work is incomplete.
That is why our ministry focuses on prayer, biblical teaching, leadership development, mentorship, entrepreneurship, family life and personal growth.
We are committed to developing complete individuals—not only committed worshippers.
Your ministry places strong emphasis on education and continuous learning. Why?
Because learning never ends.
I believe every leader should remain a student.
Personally, I continue investing in my education.
I have completed professional training in Artificial Intelligence and digital technology, leadership and formation programmes, and I continue to study because every new lesson I learn becomes a blessing to the people I serve.
A leader who stops learning eventually stops growing.
Knowledge expands vision, and vision transforms communities.
What is your dream for the ministry?
My dream is not merely to build a large ministry.
My dream is to build transformed people.
I want to see families restored.
Young people discovering purpose.
Business owners building ethical and sustainable enterprises.
Professionals becoming leaders of integrity.
Communities growing stronger.
And above all, people developing a genuine relationship with God.
If God blesses us with influence, I want that influence to produce wisdom, compassion, integrity and lasting impact.
That is the kind of legacy we want to leave for generations to come.
Your WhatsApp community has attracted attention. Is it simply another prayer group?
Not at all.
Our WhatsApp community is much more than a prayer platform.
It is a community of learning, mentorship, accountability and personal development.
We believe that once someone joins our community, they should never feel abandoned.
We want to know who they are, what they do for a living, what challenges they are facing and how we can help them grow spiritually and practically.
We are building a family, not simply a social media audience.
Why does the ministry provide free professional training?
Because knowledge changes lives.
One of our core convictions is that ignorance keeps many people where they should never remain.
That is why we regularly organize free training sessions for members.
We invite experienced professionals from different fields to share practical knowledge that people can immediately apply.
We teach leadership, entrepreneurship, technology, communication, personal development and many other relevant skills.
Our goal is to raise believers who are spiritually mature and professionally excellent.
Why would a ministry teach Artificial Intelligence?
Because the world is changing rapidly, and believers should not be left behind.
Artificial Intelligence is already transforming business, education, healthcare, media and many other industries.
Rather than fear technology, we believe people should understand it and use it wisely and ethically.
We want our members to be equipped for the future while remaining grounded in biblical values.
Faith and innovation can work together when guided by wisdom.
Apart from AI, what other practical programmes do you organize?
We are preparing a practical business structuring programme that will help entrepreneurs and small business owners build sustainable businesses.
Many people have good ideas but lack proper systems, financial planning and organizational structure.
Experienced professionals will teach participants how to build businesses that can grow responsibly and create long-term value.
The training will be offered without charge because we believe knowledge should be accessible.
Why do doctors, lawyers and consultants participate in your ministry programmes?
We believe every gift can serve God’s purposes.
Doctors educate members on health and wellness.
Lawyers provide legal awareness.
Business consultants strengthen entrepreneurs.
Financial professionals teach stewardship.

Tell us about your initiative for couples believing God for children.
Many couples silently carry emotional pain while believing God for the fruit of the womb.
We want them to know they are not forgotten.
Alongside prayer and spiritual encouragement, we are developing opportunities for confidential one-on-one consultations with qualified medical professionals.
Our desire is to provide compassionate support while respecting every family’s privacy and dignity.

You speak often about prosperity but define it differently. What do you mean?
Prosperity is not simply about accumulating wealth.
True prosperity includes spiritual maturity, wisdom, integrity, healthy relationships, meaningful work and responsible stewardship.
We encourage people to work diligently, continue learning, manage resources wisely and build lives that glorify God.
What long-term vision do you have for your community?
We want to raise a generation of men and women who are spiritually grounded, intellectually equipped and economically productive.
Our hope is that many members will become successful entrepreneurs, professionals, innovators and leaders who use their influence to serve others and honour God.
What is your philosophy regarding ministers and financial responsibility?
We believe ministers should live lives of integrity, discipline and responsible stewardship.
We encourage practical wisdom alongside spiritual growth.
When ministers continue learning and developing their gifts, they are better equipped to serve God’s people with excellence.
Does your ministry encourage tithes and offerings?
Yes.
We encourage biblical giving because generosity has always been an important expression of worship and gratitude to God.
Giving should come from a willing and cheerful heart, not from pressure or manipulation.
Why do you also encourage Kingdom partnerships?
Every great vision requires faithful people who believe in it.
Our partners help us provide free teachings, leadership training, community programmes and outreach initiatives.
Partnership is about joining hands to impact lives and strengthen communities.
Are your programmes open only to members of the ministry?
No.
Most of our educational and empowerment programmes are open to everyone, regardless of denomination or background.
Knowledge should never be reserved for a privileged few.
That is why our programmes are offered free of charge.
Where do you see the ministry in the next five years?
Our vision is much bigger than buildings.
We are working toward establishing physical branches while continuing to expand our online ministry across Africa and beyond.
Technology allows us to reach thousands daily through prayer, biblical teaching and practical knowledge.
Success will be measured not by attendance but by transformed lives, restored families, responsible leaders and thriving communities.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind?
I don’t want people to remember me simply because I founded a ministry.
I want them to remember that we helped people discover God, restored hope, strengthened families, raised leaders, encouraged continuous learning and inspired people to become responsible citizens and faithful servants of God.
What message would you like to leave with young people?
Never stop learning.
Never stop praying.
Never stop growing.
Your background does not determine your future.
Develop your skills.
Build your character.
Honour God.
Serve people with excellence.
Remain teachable.
The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.

We are a prayer-centred, God-focused, Torah-centred ministry committed to helping people build a deeper relationship with God through prayer, biblical instruction, righteous living, compassion and hope.
