Registration has opened for the Summer Youth AI Camp 2026, a six-week virtual programme designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and related digital technologies.
The programme, scheduled to run from July 19 to August 29, 2026, is expected to expose participants to AI applications, academic support sessions and career development activities.
According to the organisers, the initiative is sponsored by leadership philanthropist Dr. Calvin Bonds, Global Employment Workforce (GEW), and Monica Aigbe of Megastar Media Communication as part of efforts to expand young people’s access to digital skills training.
They said participants would receive practical instruction in areas including AI-generated video production, digital storytelling, animation, music creation using artificial intelligence and digital entrepreneurship.
The organisers added that the programme would also include free tutorials in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics to support students preparing for academic examinations.
The camp is expected to feature weekly career sessions with professionals from the technology, software development, business and entrepreneurship sectors, providing participants with insights into emerging career opportunities and industry trends.
According to the organisers, the programme will hold virtually on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. (WAT), while academic tutorials will take place on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. (WAT).
Participants who complete the programme are expected to receive a certificate of completion in Artificial Intelligence and Career Development.
The organisers encouraged schools, parents and students to take advantage of the initiative, noting that early exposure to artificial intelligence and digital technologies could help prepare young people for the changing demands of the global workforce.
