Aba Region Top 10 Revealed at Nwa Boi Experience

The search for the next generation of Beer Merchants is intensifying as Life Lager Beer takes the Nwa Boi Experience across the South East, empowering ambitious entrepreneurs through the region’s time-honoured apprenticeship tradition.

At an event held at Lavianto, Owerri, the brand unveiled the first 10 participants from the Aba region selected for the Nwa Boi Experience Top 30. The gathering brought together young entrepreneurs, business owners, and aspiring leaders whose stories reflect the resilience, ambition, and enterprise associated with the Igbo spirit.

The selection process was led by media personality and entrepreneur Noble Chibuzor Igwe, popularly known as Noble Igwe. Drawing on his experience as co-founder of the 360 Group, he challenged participants to clearly articulate their business goals, entrepreneurial journeys, and future aspirations. His engagement highlighted the resilience, creativity, and determination that define the Nwa Boi spirit.

The Aba Region Top 10 participants are Tochukwu O., Chidiebere N., Okoro Chibueze, Ifeanyi Jephta, Okoroji K., Ogueri I., Gladys Chisom, Courage C., Obinna Kamalu, and Enyinnaya I.

Among the selected participants is Ifeanyi Jephta, who manages Akins Bar in Alaukwu Village, Aba. After the passing of his father, he took over the family business while his mother oversees the kitchen. Together, they have sustained and grown the business through challenging times.

Also selected is Okoroji K., an English Language teacher at Mater Misericordiae Technical College, Aba. Through his work, he continues to shape young minds while pursuing personal and entrepreneurial growth. His selection reflects the programme’s commitment to identifying ambitious individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Another participant, Obinna Kamalu, is a geography teacher and borehole driller based in Aba. His work combines education and technical expertise, helping improve access to clean water while inspiring young people through teaching.

The emergence of the Aba Region Top 10 highlights the region’s strong entrepreneurial talent, driven by innovation, hard work, and ambition.

Speaking at the event, Regional Trade Marketing Manager, Nnamdi Okafor, said, “The Nwa Boi Experience is more than a competition; it is a platform created to recognise and empower young entrepreneurs who embody the values of resilience, enterprise, and ambition. The quality of participants we have seen reflects the entrepreneurial spirit across the South East, and we are excited to support them on their journey.”

Inspired by the renowned Igbo apprenticeship system, the Nwa Boi Experience identifies, nurtures, and empowers ambitious young entrepreneurs with the potential to become the Beer Merchants of the Future. Through mentorship, business challenges, and practical learning opportunities, participants gain the tools needed to build sustainable ventures and contribute to regional economic growth.

With the Top 10 participants from the Aba region already unveiled and the Onitsha region now producing its own outstanding finalists, the Life Lager Beer Nwa Boi Experience continues to gather momentum as it shines a spotlight on the entrepreneurs who have earned their place in the competition.

More aspiring entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to share their stories and compete for a place in the Top 30. The search remains open to individuals who demonstrate the vision, resilience, and Nwa Boi spirit needed to become the next generation of business leaders.
