Gambian Delegation to Visit Nigeria on Public Service Reform Study Mission

A high-level Gambian delegation led by the Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service of the Republic of The Gambia, Mr. Alieu Njie, will be in Nigeria on a strategic study visit from 20–24 June 2026.
The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, which will host the delegation, said the visit is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Nigerian and Gambian civil services, through peer learning, exchange of reform experiences, and practical conversations on building more efficient, professional.
A statement yesterday by Director, Press and Public Relations, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation,
Mrs. Eno Olotu, said the engagement will provide an opportunity for both countries to share lessons on public service reform implementation, service delivery improvement, institutional capacity development, performance management, digital governance, and the use of technology to support more effective government operations.
As part of the study visit, the delegation will engage with the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, selected federal ministries, departments and agencies, and relevant public service institutions, including the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, the Federal Training Centre, Lagos, and Galaxy Backbone Limited.
The statement described the study visit as a reflection of the shared commitment of Nigeria and The Gambia to strengthening public administration through cooperation, knowledge exchange, and practical learning.
It also explained that the visit reinforces the importance of African countries drawing from one another’s reform experiences to improve governance and deliver better services to citizens.
