Miryam Dekor Global Brands Consolidates Into a Single Pan-African PR Agency
The PR firm that engineered Canon Middle East’s landmark entry into Nigeria and went on to serve 500+ clients across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe is unifying under a single name.
Miryam Dekor Global Brands (MDGB) has announced the formal consolidation of its portfolio of specialist consultancies; Black Purist Media, Black Purist ECO, Black Purist HR, and Oya Food Nigeria into one integrated identity, positioning the agency as a leading Pan-African public relations and strategic communications firm.
The move brings together nearly a decade of accumulated client relationships, sector expertise, media assets, and institutional knowledge built across multiple verticals into a single, focused practice.
In 2016, Miryam Dekor founded Black Purist Media and Black Purist ECO to solve a specific problem: helping global brands navigate Africa’s complex, high-stakes communications landscape. Within months, the agency was selected over ten competing firms to deliver Canon Middle East’s complete go-to-market strategy for Nigeria, including public relations, stakeholder engagement, and a national launch that established the brand’s long-term West African presence. It was an early signal to the market of what the firm was capable of.
From that foundation, Black Purist grew into a multi-country operation, delivering integrated marketing communications campaigns for more than 500 clients across Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Gambia, South Africa, Rwanda, the Middle East, and the United Kingdom. Clients include Royal Air Maroc, Comercio Partners, Body Organics, Global Group Media London, PrimeAlert, and HR Bootcamp Conferences, among others.
Through Black Purist ECO, the firm extended its reach into international development and public sector communications, advising UN agencies, global NGOs, and multilateral institutions. Engagements include strengthening UNFPA’s institutional visibility in Ghana, directing pan-African youth engagement for the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, leading UNHCR’s Nigerian media strategy for World Refugee Day, supporting GIZ/ECOWAS’s Vision 2050 communications framework, and amplifying advocacy for Safe Hands for Girls and the Zynnell Zuh Foundation.
Additional entities; Black Purist HR (internal communications, C-suite branding, and talent development), Oya Food Nigeria (FMCG and agriculture marketing), and WEGOV Ltd (government and public policy communications) further extended the group’s scope across sectors.
“Over the years, we built several companies to serve different industries and opportunities. While each brand played an important role in our growth journey, we recognised the need to bring everything together under one clear identity. Today, that identity is MDGB.”
— Miryam Dekor, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, MDGB
The consolidation does not change what the firm does or whom it serves. It changes how clearly the world sees it.
“This is not the launch of a new company. It is the evolution of years of work into one stronger, clearer, and more focused Pan-African PR agency.”
— Naledi Mothiba, COO, MDGB
Under the unified MDGB structure, all client engagements, partnerships, thought leadership, and media activities will operate through a single, recognisable brand, one that now formally claims its position as a strategic partner of choice for multinational corporations, development organisations, governments, investors, and high-growth African businesses navigating complex communications environments.
MDGB’s practice is built on four pillars: accessibility for global clients operating across time zones; AI-native communications integrating SEO, AEO, GEO, and AI-driven PR; fractional executive leadership through its pioneering Fractional Chief Corporate and Marketing Officer (CCMO) model; and coordinated Pan-African execution across 25 African markets, with a long-term vision spanning all 54 countries.
Existing clients and partners will continue to receive uninterrupted service, now backed by the expanded capabilities of the consolidated organisation.
