Diva Gold Reveals Why She Chose Career Over Love on Conversations With Kenni

Actress and content creator Olukemi Niyi-Aluko, popularly known as Diva Gold, has opened up about choosing her acting career over a relationship that would have required her to relocate abroad.

Speaking on Conversations With Kenni, hosted by media personality Kehinde Ajose, the actress revealed that she once dated someone who wanted them to move to the United Kingdom together, but she turned down the idea because of her commitment to building a successful career in Nollywood.

“I was dating someone that wanted us to relocate. What will I go and do in the UK?” she said. “I can’t relocate now, except maybe I am going to an acting school.”

According to Diva Gold, remaining in Nigeria is crucial for actors seeking to stay relevant in the country’s highly competitive film industry.

“To thrive in Nollywood, you have to be in Nigeria because if you are not, they will forget you. New actors come up every day,” she added.

The actress also shared her views on the growing popularity of Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures among women in the entertainment industry, saying people should be free to make choices that work for them.

“Let people do what works for them,” she said, noting that physical appearance often influences audience perception.

“It’s what the fans want. If they don’t see you aesthetically pleasing to watch…” she said.

Diva Gold further stirred conversation when she jokingly added, “We want more BBL girls.”

Her comments have since generated discussion about the sacrifices entertainers make for their careers, as well as the beauty standards that continue to shape the entertainment industry.
