After years of impactful community service and outreach through the Oladepo Timilehin Foundation, a founder Oladepo Precious Timilehin has announced the launch of a new chapter: the Voice of Hospitality Initiative (VOHI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting hospitality workers across Nigeria and Africa at large

The Voice of Hospitality Initiative was born from a journey of service, personal growth, and a deepening understanding of purpose.

What began in 2017 as a simple act of kindness, raising funds with friends to visit an orphanage home with gifts, grew into the Oladepo Timilehin Foundation, an organization committed to empowering underserved communities. Through outreach programs in rural communities, food and clothing distribution, support for small entrepreneurs, and vocational skill training, the Foundation impacted countless lives.

“Our mission at OTF was simple: to empower as many people as we could,” said Precious Oladepo, Founder of Voice of Hospitality Initiative. “But as we grew, I realized that to create lasting and measurable impact, we needed more clarity, focus, and structure.”

In September 2024, Precious relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue a Master’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism. This transition marked a turning point in both personal and professional direction. In October 2024, the Oladepo Timilehin Foundation announced a temporary pause as the organization reflected on its future.

While studying in the UK, Precious sought firsthand experience in the hospitality sector, interning at a five-star hotel in London and volunteering with Hospitality Action, a UK-based organization supporting hospitality workers.

These experiences exposed her to the realities and challenges hospitality workers face and reignited her passion for service.

“Volunteering with Hospitality Action brought back the same sense of fulfillment I felt when I first started,” Precious shared. “I came to realize that my life and professional experiences have always been rooted in hospitality. It was no longer just a career path, it had become a community I belonged to.”

That realization inspired the evolution of OTF into the Voice of Hospitality Initiative.

At VOHI, the mission is clear: to support hospitality workers across Africa through emergency financial assistance, mental health support, medical relief and long-term empowerment initiatives.

The organization seeks to become a trusted support system for the often overlooked workforce that powers hotels, restaurants, tourism, and service industries across the continent.

“Those who serve others deserve to be supported too,” said Precious.

The launch of Voice of Hospitality Initiative marks the beginning of a focused and strategic movement to advocate for, empower, and uplift hospitality workers across Africa.
