From Bricklayer to Tech Entrepreneur: The Inspiring Story of Adedapo Micheal Sunday

In a country where many young people battle daily with hardship, uncertainty, and limited opportunities, the story of Adedapo Micheal Sunday stands as a powerful testimony of resilience, sacrifice, faith, and determination.
Born on August 2, 1998, at Adeoyo Hospital, Micheal hails from Owo in Ondo State. His educational journey began at Victory Comprehensive College before his family later relocated to Ibadan, where he completed his secondary school education at Celestial High School.
Like many Nigerian youths raised in difficult economic conditions, survival became one of Micheal’s biggest struggles while pursuing his education. After gaining admission into Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology to study Accountancy, he constantly searched for ways to support himself financially.
During his National Diploma days, Micheal worked on farms to earn little money for feeding, transportation, and school expenses. Despite the physical stress, he remained focused on his dream of building a better future through education.
After completing his National Diploma, he gained Direct Entry admission into Adekunle Ajasin University to study Accounting. However, life became more challenging at the university. Unlike before, there were limited opportunities for farm work around the school environment. Refusing to give up, Micheal began helping fellow students with assignments and academic tasks to earn small income for survival.
Unfortunately, when the coronavirus pandemic disrupted academic activities across the country, that source of income suddenly disappeared.
Faced with financial hardship and uncertainty, Micheal returned to Ibadan during the COVID-19 period and began working as a laborer for bricklayers just to survive and continue his education. According to him, the work was extremely stressful and began affecting his health, but he had little choice at the time.
“I was doing labor work because I needed to survive,” Micheal recalled. “Some days my whole body would ache because of the stress, but I kept going because I believed things would become better someday.”
It was during this difficult season of his life that destiny introduced him to technology.
After opening up about his struggles to an older brother figure, the man told him about a friend who was into web design. At that time, Micheal had no understanding of what web design meant, but one statement immediately caught his attention — “There is money in it.”
That single conversation became a turning point in his life.
Determined to learn a skill that could change his future, Micheal started teaching himself web design through online tutorials. Since he could not afford proper training, he created a difficult but disciplined routine for himself. He would go for bricklaying labor work one day to earn money, use the money to buy mobile data, and then spend the next day indoors watching web design tutorials and practicing what he learned online.
“I was learning with pain, hunger, and determination,” he said. “Sometimes I would work today just to buy data, then stay home the next day learning web design from videos.”
Although he had passion and determination, another major challenge remained — he did not own a laptop.
In what Micheal describes as one of the defining moments of his journey, help came through his friend, Omolola Otugalu, who supported his dream by buying him a laptop to aid his learning process.
“That support changed my life,” Micheal explained. “Sometimes all a struggling young person needs is one person who believes in them.”
With consistency, sleepless nights of learning, and relentless self-development, Micheal gradually mastered web design and began building websites for businesses and individuals.
What started as a survival strategy slowly transformed into a business vision.
In 2023, he officially registered Dleading Web Design Ltd., establishing the company’s first major branch in Ibadan. Through dedication, quality service, and continuous learning, the company gradually expanded its reach and reputation.
After completing his Bachelor’s degree, Micheal relocated to Lagos, where he established the Lagos branch of the company. During his service year with the National Youth Service Corps in Calabar, he also launched the Calabar branch of Dleading Web Design Ltd.
Today, while the company’s major physical branches are located in Lagos, Ibadan, and Calabar, Dleading Web Design Ltd. operates online branches across all 36 states of Nigeria, serving clients from different industries and helping businesses build strong digital presence.
Through the company, Micheal and his team have worked with clients from different parts of the country, helping brands grow professionally through website development, branding, and digital solutions.
Beyond business success, Micheal remains passionate about empowering young people through technology and skill acquisition. This vision led to the creation of Dleading Web Design Training, the company’s educational platform and YouTube channel dedicated to teaching web design and digital skills.
Through online tutorials, mentorship, and training programs, he continues to inspire and train young Nigerians, especially those facing financial hardship, proving that difficult beginnings do not determine a person’s future.
Today, the same young man who once carried blocks under the hot sun in Ibadan now leads a growing digital brand with presence across Nigeria.
The journey of Adedapo Micheal Sunday is more than a success story — it is a reminder that resilience, self-development, faith, and opportunity can transform pain into purpose and struggle into impact.
