The Member representing Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Finance, Rt. Hon. Saidu Musa Abdullahi (SMA), has expressed profound gratitude to leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Bida, Gbako and Katcha Federal Constituency following his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 General Elections.
SMA, in a statement issued on Friday, described his emergence as a demonstration of confidence in his leadership, representation and commitment to the development of the constituency.
The lawmaker particularly commended Governor Umar Mohammed Bago of Niger State for what he described as the governor’s critical role in facilitating his emergence as the APC consensus candidate, while appreciating the trust and confidence reposed in him over the years.
According to SMA, Governor Bago’s consistent support, encouragement and belief in his capacity have remained a major source of motivation and responsibility toward strengthening Niger State’s voice, relevance and competitiveness at the National Assembly and within the broader political landscape of the country.
He described his emergence as both a great honour and a huge responsibility, saying it reflected the confidence reposed in his leadership and commitment to advancing the progress of Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency.
The federal lawmaker also acknowledged the support and fatherly role of the Etsu Nupe, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, as well as the Sheshi of Katcha, Alhaji Baba Adamu, district heads, village heads, traditional institutions and religious leaders across the constituency for their prayers, guidance and commitment to peace and unity.
SMA further appreciated members of the Niger State House of Assembly, local government chairmen and their deputies, commissioners, ward councillors, political appointees, party elders and stakeholders across Bida, Gbako and Katcha local government areas for their solidarity and encouragement throughout consultations and political engagements that culminated in the consensus arrangement.
He equally extended appreciation to APC structures at the national, zonal, state, senatorial district, local government, ward and unit levels, alongside women groups, youth associations, student organisations, trade unions, inter-tribal associations, faith-based organisations, non-governmental organisations, community-based groups and supporters across the constituency for their loyalty, unity and overwhelming support.
The lawmaker also commended other aspirants and their supporters for embracing dialogue, mutual understanding and party unity, which he said contributed significantly to the peaceful emergence of a consensus candidate for the APC.
Describing the development as a collective victory for both the APC and the entire constituency, SMA said the level of maturity, sacrifice and unity displayed by stakeholders during the process was commendable and worthy of emulation.
He, however, appealed to his supporters and associates across the constituency to refrain from mocking, insulting or disrespecting anyone over the outcome of the consultations, stressing that the consensus arrangement should be seen as a win-win situation aimed at deepening party unity, stability and collective progress.
SMA also expressed appreciation for the massive turnout, warm reception, endorsements, prayers and goodwill messages he received during his welcome visit to Bida following the purchase of his nomination form, as well as during recent political visits to Gbako and Katcha local government areas.
According to him, the overwhelming show of love, confidence and solidarity demonstrated by residents of the constituency remains deeply humbling and inspiring.
The lawmaker assured constituents that his emergence as the APC consensus candidate would further strengthen his resolve to provide quality representation, facilitate impactful projects, expand humanitarian support and drive the overall development of Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency.
He pledged to continue working closely with stakeholders across political, social and sectional divides in order to sustain peace, unity and development in the constituency.
SMA further urged party members, supporters and residents of the constituency to remain united, peaceful and committed to the collective advancement of the constituency, Niger State and the country.
He reaffirmed his unwavering support for the leadership and developmental vision of Governor Umar Mohammed Bago, as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
