A leading governorship contender in Ekiti State, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, has reaffirmed his commitment to people-centered leadership, declaring that his ambition is firmly rooted in the collective interest and welfare of Ekiti citizens.
Addressing journalists during an interactive session, Oluyede outlined a broad governance vision anchored on inclusivity, transparency, and sustainable development. He stressed that his aspiration to lead the state is driven by a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for all residents, particularly the common people who, according to him, form the backbone of the state.
“My ambition is for the generality of Ekiti State,” he said, noting that governance under his watch would be designed to deliver real impact across communities.
He emphasized that his administration, if elected in the 2026 governorship election, would prioritise policies and programmes that directly address the needs and aspirations of the people.
Oluyede explained that his leadership approach would be guided by the principles of good governance, accountability, and purposeful coordination. He disclosed that his government would operate a seamless administrative structure where all arms and levels of government work in synergy to achieve clearly defined developmental objectives.
“My priority, if graciously supported and ultimately elected as the next governor, is the betterment of every common Ekiti person,” he told journalists, reiterating that no group would be marginalised under his leadership. He added that his policies would cut across all strata of society, irrespective of educational, occupational, or social background.
The governorship hopeful further pledged to drive social, economic, and infrastructural transformation across the state. He highlighted the need to expand economic opportunities, support small and medium-scale enterprises, and improve access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and rural development.
He also assured that transparency and accountability would remain central pillars of his administration, noting that public trust is critical to achieving meaningful governance outcomes.
According to him, his government would be open, responsive, and committed to delivering measurable progress that citizens can see and feel.
Oluyede maintained that his vision is to build a state where prosperity is shared and opportunities are accessible to all, adding that inclusive governance remains the surest path to long-term stability and development.
The engagement with journalists signals a deliberate effort by the candidate to articulate his policy direction and connect with the electorate ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
As political activities continue to gather momentum in Ekiti State, his message of people-first leadership and inclusive prosperity is expected to remain a central theme in his campaign.
