Ebi Egbe Makes Case for Baribote to Save Bayelsa Utd from Relegation

With relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) starring Bayelsa United in the face, Stadium Facility Expert, Ebi Ezekiel Egbe, has called on the Bayelsa State Government to hand over the team to experienced administrator, Chief Baribote Rumson, to save the state owned club from going down to the lower tier of the country’s club football.

Egbe who is the Chief Executive Officer of  Monimichelle Sports Facility Limited is an indigene of Bayelsa and believes strongly that Chief Baribote has the capacity to avoid the impending doom.

“Why do we continue to shortchange ourselves in Bayelsa State? At a time when strategic leadership is critical to the growth of our football ecosystem, we must be deliberate about the choices we make. Bayelsa United deserves experienced, competent leadership that understands the realities of the Nigerian football landscape.

“Chief Baribote Rumson is not just qualified he is deeply rooted in the workings of the Nigeria Professional Football League. His knowledge, experience, and proven understanding of the system position him as a strong candidate to lead the club forward,” observed the Monimichelle CEO who is pained that the football club that gives indigenes of the state joy is about to be relegated into the lower rung of Nigerian football.

Currently, Bayelsa United are seared in the 19th position on 40 points from same 35 games with fellow bottom benchers Wikki Tourists and Kun Khalifat FC. Even Warri Wolves on 43 points are not free from worries as the 17th they currently occupy lie within the drop zone.

Egbe therefore called on Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri to save the situation. “Your Excellency, this is a passionate and sincere appeal for thoughtful consideration. The future of our football depends on informed decisions, not sentiments. This is a compassionate plea, Sir,” concludes
