Creators Nexus 2026 gathers 5,000 Lagos creatives, reshaping success

In an era where virality often dictates creative success, Creators Nexus 2026 is charting a different course. On Saturday, April 11, more than 5,000 creators converged at the Celebr8 Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, with thousands more joining virtually, for what is being hailed as a landmark moment in Nigeria’s creative ecosystem.

The annual gathering, convened by Moromooluwatiketike Abolaji, carried the theme “Creators That Last” — a deliberate call to move beyond fleeting online trends and toward building sustainable, purpose-driven careers.

Moromooluwatiketike explained the vision: “We’ve seen people rise quickly and disappear just as fast. That’s not the goal. The goal is to build creatives whose work will stand the test of time—careers rooted in authenticity, discipline, purpose, and resilience.”

Creators Nexus is built on the philosophy that true success lies in lasting impact, not momentary relevance. Throughout the event, speakers and participants engaged in conversations about structure, discipline, and long-term value creation.

The lineup featured some of Nigeria’s most influential voices in the creative industry, including actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele, award-winning actor Kemi Lala Akindoju, bank78 founder Seyi Ebenezer, and Ayo Adeagbo, Special Assistant to the President on Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy. Their sessions offered practical insights into storytelling, monetisation, policy engagement, and the structural realities of Nigeria’s creative economy.

What distinguished Creators Nexus 2026 was its intentionality. Panels and workshops challenged attendees to move from reactive content creation to strategic brand building, from chasing applause to creating impact. The event encouraged creators to define narratives rather than simply follow trends.

Moromooluwatiketike shared how the platform began: “The Creators Nexus started when I wanted to attend a creative event some years back, but it was a paid event. I wrote in my journal that I would organise a free event for creatives—where they can learn, win, and grow. By God’s grace, we held the first edition in March 2024.”

As Nigeria’s creative economy matures, the need for mentorship, structure, and long-term thinking has become urgent. Creators Nexus 2026 is addressing these gaps head-on, equipping creators with tools and reshaping the mindset required to thrive in a competitive landscape.

With its growing influence, Creators Nexus is poised to evolve beyond an annual event into a sustained ecosystem of support — offering continuous access to knowledge, partnerships, and opportunities for creators across Africa.

Creators Nexus is a forward-thinking platform dedicated to empowering creatives, influencers, and digital entrepreneurs to build sustainable, high-impact careers. Through community, education, and industry engagement, it is helping to redefine the future of creativity in Nigeria and beyond.
