King Charles III Hosts Nigerian Diaspora Reception Ahead of Tinubu’s State Visit

Prominent members of the Nigerian diaspora gathered in London as King Charles III hosted a special reception celebrating the contributions of Nigerians living in the United Kingdom.

The reception, held at St James’s Palace, brought together diplomats, business leaders, creatives and community representatives in recognition of the growing influence and achievements of Nigerians across the UK.

Among the notable guests was Yemi Edun, a representative of Daniel Ford International, who joined distinguished members of the diaspora community at the prestigious royal gathering.

Edun’s presence highlighted the increasing role Nigerian professionals and entrepreneurs play in strengthening economic and cultural ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

The event also welcomed Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chair of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), who has been instrumental in promoting engagement between Nigeria and its global diaspora community.

Also in attendance was Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, alongside Nigeria’s newly appointed Ambassador to the United Kingdom and other senior diplomats from the Nigerian High Commission in London.

The event attracted notable figures from entertainment, culture, healthcare and the military, including British-Nigerian music star Tinie Tempah, social media personality Bemi Orojuogun, renowned contemporary artist Yinka Shonibare, and medical professional Chike Ify Okocha.

Other prominent Nigerians present at the reception included Toyin Saraki, Pastor Ayo Adedoyin, Korede Adenowo, media professional Grace Igbiniyesu, entrepreneur Awambeng René, and financial market professional Abi Ajayi.

Also present were community leader Tevin Tobun, media and communications professional Daniel Toye Olurin, cultural advocate Stella Nse Okuzu, and global finance expert Arunma Oteh.

The reception celebrated the cultural richness and entrepreneurial spirit of Nigerians living abroad. Guests were treated to Nigerian cuisine and cultural performances reflecting the country’s vibrant heritage and global influence.
