Labour leaders, including former Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Comrade Hassan Sunmonu, have praised Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris, for his developmental efforts.

At a Ramadan Iftar hosted by the Governor, Sunmonu commended Idris’s “inclusive and people-oriented leadership”, citing projects like the ultra-modern Secretariat named after President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, central motor park reconstruction, and infrastructure development.

According to Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, quoted the labour leaders saying Governor Idris has achieved notable successes, including completing key projects across Kebbi’s 21 local government areas.

Responding Governor Idris thanked labour leaders for their support, highlighting achievements in worker welfare: “I do not joke with payments of civil servants’ salaries, pensions, and gratuities. We aren’t owing any retired civil servants.” He also mentioned distributing fertilisers and food items to support citizens, emphasising his administration’s commitment to improving lives.

The event featured the presentation of a book authored by Sunmonu to Governor Idris, attended by current NLC President Comrade Joe Ajero, national executive members, former NLC presidents, state executive members, SSG, commissioners, HOS, and Permanent Secretaries. Sunmonu expressed labour’s backing, saying, “You have made the entire Labour family across the nation proud.”
