Kidpreneur Partners With Wazobia to Empower Young Entrepreneurs in US
Kidpreneur Africa announced on Thursday a partnership with Wazobia African Market to empower young African entrepreneurs in Houston, Texas, United States.
According to the partners, the initiative will culminate in a conference, scheduled for February 28, where participants will showcase their business ideas and compete for prizes and mentorship opportunities.
They added that the initiative will continue with other programmes for one year, which will feature a series of entrepreneurship workshops, mentorship sessions, and pitching competitions.
The founder of Kidpreneur Africa, Juliet Vincent-Obi, stated that Kidpreneurship is the future, and they are dedicated to empowering young people in Africa and the diaspora.
Vincent-Obi added that her organisation empowers young minds to think like entrepreneurs, take calculated risks, and innovate solutions that are crucial to Africa’s growth.
She further stated that the Houston initiative aims to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to launch and grow successful businesses.
“Together, we will provide young people with the tools and support they need to turn their ideas into reality,” she said.
The CEO of Wazobia African Market, Mr Tunde Fasina, while reiterating their commitment to giving back to the community, emphasised that youth empowerment is a key part of their mission.
Fasina said that Wazobia African Market is the largest retailer of African groceries in Houston, Texas, and a premier platform showcasing African culture and commerce.
He further said that, with their partnership with Kidpreneur Africa, they are not only promoting entrepreneurship but also contributing to the development of their community.
“We are excited to see the innovative ideas these young people bring to the table,” he said.
The partners stated that they are investing in the future of Africa through this initiative that will provide opportunities for young entrepreneurs to develop their skills, network, and thrive.
