2027: Abia Community to Buy Expression of Interest Form for Otti, Donates N500m

At a reception organised to thank Governor Alex Otti of Abia State at Ozu Abam Secondary School Field for projects executed, the Abam community in Arochukwu Local Government Area of the state has pledged to buy Expression of Interest Form for him as well as give N500 million seed money for his campaign expenses.
Governor Otti speaking at the occasion promised to return soon to inaugurate most of the projects which he said have attained 75 per cent completion.
He also pledged to restore power to the Abam community in the next few months.
“I can assure you that it can never be the same again in Abam, it will continue to be better. Thank you for producing good leaders in Abam, people that have continued to prioritise development of the community against selfish interests.
“I am here to assure you that we have restored the state to the dreams of our forefathers against the selfish interests of past leaders in their underdevelopment plans.
“We will be firm with everything at our disposal, firmness, development and ensure that we will not allow the return to darkness by those threatening to take us back to the dark alleys. May this light shine in perpetuity. May I thank the leadership of Abam, for producing the best people in this country,” Otti said.
Responding to the musicians who told him to run when detractors chased him, he said that he would not run but confront them because the day a warrior was born in one community was the day another was born in another community.
He announced the appointment of Professor Ken Kalu, former Secretary to the State Government as President of Abia Leadership Academy, adding that he can work from anywhere. He used the occasion to confirm Dr. Emmanuel Meribole as substantive Secretary to the State Government.
Also speaking at the occasion, Chief Chijioke James Umeh, the Chief Executive Officer of Unubiko Foundation, stated that for the superlative performance of the governor which delivered a lot of projects within the zone, they were going to be behind his administration and future aspirations.
He listed the construction of Abam-Arochukwu Road, the ongoing Idima-Ndi Agwu-Atan Abam-Arochukwu Road, siting of a general hospital, rehabilitation, construction and equipping several health centres which has never been done in the history of the state, there was need to encourage him to do more.
“Before now, Abam votes are collated at Arochukwu, and to do that, the votes had to be moved through another local government and before it gets to the collation point, the numbers are diluted but now you have done the road which takes less than five minutes to get to the collation centre, be assured of our block votes.
“In the history of this area, the Omenuko Bridge that is almost 100 years old which successive governments never thought it fit to construct, but now you have built it. This is a welcome home for you. The journey started in Atan Abam and we told you we will deliver victory and we did. We are asking you to run and we know you will run because we are behind you.
“We Abam people are going to buy your Expression of Interest Form and we will give a seed money of N500 million for the preparations for your second term bid where we will give you undiluted block votes and as the most populated constituency, we are assuring you of victory,” Umeh.
Immediate past Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kalu thanked Otti for his sterling performance and assured him that the Abam community would be working for their own progress in 2027 by delivering his victory at the polls.
Former Speaker of the Abia State Assembly, Dr. Agwu U. Agwu who was Chairman of the occasion while thanking Otti for his good works, asked him to revitalise the rubber estates in Abam to realise the vision of our founding fathers.
