Nest of Dreams Children’s Foundation Launches in Lagos, Supports Pupils with Education Kits

A newly established humanitarian organisation, Nest of Dreams Children’s Foundation, has formally launched its operations in Lagos with its maiden outreach programme at Araromi Nursery and Primary School, Gbagada.

The foundation, which is focused on nurturing the potential of children in underserved communities, marked the launch by distributing essential educational materials to underprivileged pupils as part of efforts to remove barriers to access to quality education.

Founded in 2025, Nest of Dreams Children’s Foundation is driven by the belief that every child deserves a safe and supportive environment to grow and thrive. At the outreach programme, beneficiaries received comprehensive education kits, including new school uniforms, two pairs of socks, school bags, school shoes, writing materials, notebooks, stationery sets and pencil cases.

Speaking at the event, the Founder, Opeyemi Kotun, said the initiative was designed to protect children’s aspirations and give them a fair start in life. “Our name reflects our commitment to creating environments where children are protected, supported and empowered to grow into self-reliant individuals. We recognise that poverty often puts a child’s dreams at risk. By providing these basic tools, we are building the foundation that allows those dreams to take flight,” she said.

According to the foundation, its intervention model goes beyond welfare support, adopting an ecosystem-based approach that involves collaboration with schools, families and community leaders to tackle the root causes of vulnerability among children.

Nest of Dreams also disclosed that its areas of focus include mentorship, vocational development and the preservation of artisan heritage skills, aimed at equipping young people with practical competencies for long-term independence.

The Gbagada outreach, the foundation noted, is the first in a series of planned interventions targeted at reducing school dropout rates and improving learning outcomes in underserved communities across the country.

The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable impact, stressing that its programmes are designed to empower children for the future rather than provide short-term relief.

Nest of Dreams Children’s Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to early intervention and sustainable empowerment for children and youth through education support, mentorship and vocational training.
