Federal Ministry of Education Assesses Induze Tech Foundation, Affirms Readiness for Collaboration

Abuja — Induze Tech Foundation has hosted officials of the Special Duties Department, Public-Private Partnership/Non- Governmental Unit of the Federal Ministry of Education, Headquarters, Abuja, in an assessment and evaluation visit aimed at strengthening collaboration in advancing computer science education across Nigeria. The evaluation exercise took place on Wednesday 21 January, 2025, at the organisation’s national headquarters in Abuja.

The delegation, led by Mr. Omotowa Victor Opeyemi and Mr. Ojukwu M. Michael, visited the Foundation on behalf of the Permanent Secretary as part of the second stage of the Ministry’s registration and engagement process with the organisation.

During the visit, the Induze Tech Foundation team was formally introduced, reflecting the organisation’s multidisciplinary structure. Members present included Dorcas Edache, Operations Manager; Dr. Amba Ekure, Programmes Officer; Cletus Francis Udoh, Developer and Software Lead; Engr. Dennis Nwaogu, Technical Lead; Victor Okoro, Head of Cybersecurity; Roseline Danjuma, Curriculum Developer; Chima, Gender Specialist; and Amarachi Okoro, Educational Psychologist.

Providing an overview of the Foundation, representatives explained that Induze Tech Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that every student has access to quality computer science education, digital skills, digital literacy, and education technology innovations. The Foundation noted

that it has implemented technology-driven learning programmes across several public secondary schools within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

On regulatory and legal matters, the Founder of Induze Tech Foundation, Mr. Nwabueze Chilaka, informed the Ministry officials that the organisation was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on December 8, 2022, commenced operations in December 2022, and is duly registered with the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning. All requested documents, including the CAC certificate, original payment receipt of the non-refundable registration fee, and the list of Board of Trustees—featuring Ugonna Onyike as Secretary—were presented and verified.

The Ministry was further briefed on the Foundation’s flagship initiative, “Essentials of Computing,” which has been implemented in government secondary schools in Apo, Garki, Maitama, Wuse Zone 3, Gwagwalada, Dei-Dei, Kabusa, Kuje, and Orozo. According to the Foundation, the first phase of the programme ran from October 2023 to February 2024, while the second phase took place between October 2024 and February 2025, with approvals from the FCT Education board.

Addressing funding and human capacity, Mr. Chilaka disclosed that the Foundation is largely self-funded, with occasional support from friends and family.

Explaining the rationale for engaging the Federal Ministry of Education, the Founder stated that while the Foundation has obtained approvals within the FCT, national expansion

requires federal partnership to provide credibility, technical support, and access to wider collaboration opportunities.

In its response, the Ministry commended the Foundation’s passion and voluntary commitment to education and confirmed its openness to collaboration. While noting that direct funding could not be guaranteed, the Ministry assured the Foundation of technical support, referrals, partnership opportunities, and access to collaboration hubs for networking and stakeholder engagement. The officials also encouraged the Foundation to invite Ministry representatives to its events and reaffirmed the Ministry’s open-door policy.

The Ministry outlined compliance requirements, including the submission of bi-annual reports once registration is finalised and renewal every two years, subject to satisfactory performance and adherence to standards.

The visit concluded with the Ministry expressing interest in a productive partnership with Induze Tech Foundation and extending best wishes as the organisation continues to expand its impact in computer science education and digital skills development across Nigeria.
