Jimoh Habeeb Joins “Echoes of the Grind” as Executive Producer

The Nigerian music industry thrives on moments where preparation meets opportunity, and Echoes of the Grind is one of those moments.

Talent manager and creative executive Jimoh Habeeb, popularly known as Luis Beeb, has earned his first Executive Producer credit in the music space with the release of Echoes of the Grind, a collaborative EP developed alongside his colleague Oyinda.

The project was made possible through the Music Marketing Conference Africa (MMCA), where the featured artists were carefully selected following the conference.

For Luis, the project wasn’t just about releasing music it was about building structure around creativity.
Following MMCA, selected emerging artists were brought together for an intensive creative residency that saw them locked in an apartment for a full week. What followed were long recording sessions, creative debates, experimentation, and honest conversations about sound, identity, and direction. Like many collaborative projects in the industry, there were moments of uncertainty, but persistence became the difference.

“Projects like this don’t always make it to the finish line,” Habeeb notes. “But we stayed the course, we released the project, created strong visual content, and executed promotion in the most effective little way possible.”

One of the defining lessons from the process was understanding how flexible music can be when artists are pushed beyond familiar territory. Rather than forcing ideas, Habeeb relied on his experience in artist management and creative direction, encouraging artists to experiment with instrumentals they wouldn’t normally choose guided by their past releases, instincts, and creative tendencies.

“It’s not a superpower,” he explains. “It’s understanding people and helping them see beyond their current limitations.”

Throughout the sessions, the artists were challenged to step away from surface-level themes and focus on deeper narratives tied to the EP’s core ideas. Although multiple records were created, guidance from experienced industry A&Rs helped narrow the project down to seven carefully selected tracks that best reflected the soul of the work.

The overarching themes of Echoes of the Grind life, aspiration, and patience are rooted in the realities of emerging creatives navigating an industry where access often determines visibility. Habeeb, an advocate for artist development and platform-building, believes strongly that young talents need safe spaces to showcase, refine, and grow.

While the ideal music ecosystem rewards pure talent, the reality often involves gatekeeping and industry politics. Echoes of the Grind aims to help bridge that gap starting with opportunity, structure, and intentional collaboration.

An intimate listening party held in Lagos offered artists the chance to connect closely with friends, fans, and supporters ahead of the public release. The session emphasized culture, creativity, and storytelling a fitting reflection of the project’s purpose.

If you’ve ever hustled for something you truly believe in, Echoes of the Grind is more than an EP. It’s a statement on patience, persistence, and purpose.

The project was made possible with support from Music Marketing Conference Africa, Party Monks Entertainment, and veteran music producer Cobhams Asuquo, Ak street, Ibrahim, brand engineer whose belief in the vision helped bring the project to life. A listen would make a change.
