Bugzeee Unveils New Single “Boss”, Kicking Off a Year of Manifestation and Groove

UK based Nigerian Afrobeats artist Bugzeee, born Enobong Emmanuel Akpan, officially releases his first single of the year titled “Boss”. The track sets the tone for what the artist describes as a year of manifestation, a theme that will consistently reflect throughout his music in 2026.

“Boss” is a collaborative effort that brings together creative talents across continents. The record was produced by Nigeria based producer Leco, recorded by Rukky Great, and expertly mixed and mastered by British sound engineer Taylor Chambers of TaylorMadeStudio. With Afrobeats continuing to evolve as a global sound, Bugzeee intentionally sought a Western sonic influence to broaden his international appeal. Taylor Chambers’ refined engineering adds a polished finish that resonates strongly with Bugzeee’s global audience.

Bugzeee has praised Taylor’s approach, describing his engineering process as one of the finest in this new era of music production. Lyrically, “Boss” stands as a bold declaration of self belief. Through the song, Bugzeee explores a version of himself where success, wealth, and recognition do not corrupt his values but instead deepen his gratitude for the journey and the hard work that brought him this far.
One standout lyric captures this mindset perfectly.

“Kilode what’s the currency? Na God show me sure mercy, money dey like forestry, steady guide my conscience.”

As a deeply spiritual individual, Bugzeee openly acknowledges God as the source of his blessings. Even amidst abundance and growth, he emphasizes his desire to maintain a clear conscience in all aspects of life.

“Boss” serves as the lead single from Bugzeee’s upcoming third studio album, Ready 2 Groove. Speaking on the album’s creative direction, he shared.

“This project is all about the groove. My fan base is called The Groovers, and I believe this is a year for us to celebrate, to experience joy, freedom, and happiness. I feel like I am entering a phase with no limitations, and that energy has guided my creativity.”

The new single follows the successful release of 7 Shades of Bugzeee, which dropped in the summer of 2025 and was well received by fans, as well as the Winter Tapes EP released in December 2025. Bugzeee continues to demonstrate remarkable consistency and states that he possesses an infinite pool of music ready for the world to hear.

Since its release, “Boss” has already garnered positive reactions from listeners, and Bugzeee is confident the momentum will continue to grow.

“This song is meant to ginger people,” he explains. “I let listeners feel whatever they want to feel. That is why I stay genuine and relatable. I want my music to always evoke real human emotions.”
