ECOVIS OUC Chartered Accountants has once its commitment to corporate social responsibility with the distribution of over 500 bags of rice and cash support of N5,000 each to residents of Apapa and its surrounding communities.

The CSR outreach, which formed part of the firm’s end-of-year community engagement activities, was aimed at supporting vulnerable households, low-income earners, traders, transport workers and other residents within the Apapa axis, especially at a time of rising economic pressure.

Speaking during the exercise, the Managing Partner, Mr Andrew Uviase, said the initiative reflects ECOVIS OUC’s long-standing belief that responsible businesses must play an active role in supporting the communities in which they operate.

According to him, the rice and cash support programme is a structured part of the firm’s corporate social responsibility strategy, designed to complement its professional services with meaningful social impact.

“At Ecovis OUC, we see corporate social responsibility as an integral part of our business values. Beyond providing audit, tax and advisory services, we are committed to giving back to society and supporting our host communities in practical ways. This outreach is one of the ways we show solidarity with the people, particularly during the festive season,” He said. Meanwhile, the  Associate Partner Practice Management of the firm, Ms  Victorial Okpako, who flagged off the distribution exercise alongside other management staff, explained that the combination of rice and cash token support was carefully considered to help beneficiaries meet immediate household needs and ease some financial burden.
