Digital fundraising platform, FundACause is leveraging its technology and brand presence to drive a significant new investment into Nigeria’s healthcare sector, targeting cancer care and prevention.
The platform which is developed by SystemSpecs Technology Services Limited (STSL) recently teamed up with the Nigeria Cancer Society (NCS) to launch the ‘Shield for Cancer’ fundraising campaign, with the ambitious goal of raising N100 million.
The funds are earmarked for the large-scale deployment of mobile cancer screening vans across all six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
The campaign which officially commenced October 30 positions the platform at the forefront of private sector-led health technology initiatives to tackle a major national public health challenge.
The focus is on improving early detection and treatment by extending crucial screening services to underserved rural communities and regions where late-stage cancer cases place the heaviest burden on the healthcare system.
Developed by SystemSpecs Technology Services Limited (STSL), a subsidiary of SystemSpecs Group, FundACause is leveraging its secure and transparent digital environment to facilitate the raising and donation of funds towards this cause, underscoring SystemSpecs’ commitment for social good.
Business Development Executive at FundACause, Rachael Ukpebor highlighted the platform’s role in connecting verified fundraisers like NCS with compassionate donors to bridge the emotional and financial gap faced by patients.
“This initiative is deeply personal to us. We believe technology must play a central role in delivering hope and healing to those in need. As we launch the fundraising today, we invite everyone to join us in supporting the initiative. Together, we can create lasting impact,” she stated.
Also speaking, President of the Nigeria Cancer Society, Prof. Abidemi Omonisi reaffirmed the significance of the initiative.
