Nigerian Author Modupe Okaseun to Launch Debut Dark Romance Novel Claimed in December 2025
Nigerian-born writer Modupe Okaseun, now based in the Netherlands, is set to release her debut dark romance novel, Claimed, this December under Avocado Publishing Co. The novel marks the launch of the highly anticipated Crimson Dynasty Series, a saga of power, passion, and revenge.
Claimed follows the harrowing yet hopeful journey of Sarah Gomez, a young woman escaping ten years of captivity under her father’s brutal cartel. Her desperate flight brings her face-to-face with Nicholas Bailey, a billionaire CEO by day and the feared Dragon Mafia king by night. United by shared trauma and betrayal, their worlds collide in a whirlwind of danger, forbidden desire, and emotional reckoning.
Through a narrative rich in suspense and heart-wrenching emotion, Modupe explores the delicate balance between survival and vulnerability, vengeance and forgiveness. The novel delivers a gripping blend of raw emotion, complex characters, and cinematic storytelling that is already capturing the attention of romance readers in Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking about the novel, Modupe Okaseun said:
“Claimed is a story about two broken souls learning that love can be both a weapon and a lifeline. I wanted to create characters who fight for their humanity, even in the darkest places.”
Known for her bold and addictive writing style, Modupe crafts worlds of mafia dynasties, dominant alphas, and heroines who refuse to surrender. Claimed positions her as a striking new voice in contemporary dark romance and sets the stage for the expansive universe of the Crimson Dynasty Series.
Claimed will be available globally this December through Avocado Publishing Co and major retailers.
