Amaka Nwokeji: The Woman Turning Personal Inspiration into Global Fashion Influence with Lhambi

Amaka Nwokeji’s journey is one defined by determination, creativity, and a vision to make space for women who often go unseen. A petroleum engineer turned entrepreneur, creative director, and mother of four, Amaka has spent years breaking boundaries across industries, from mining and trading to brand building, before turning her attention to fashion. Her ability to seamlessly move between highly technical fields and creative industries is a reflection of her disciplined work ethic, keen problem-solving skills, and natural leadership abilities.

Her pivot into fashion began with a personal challenge: the lack of stylish, well-crafted shoes in larger sizes. Rather than accept the status quo, Amaka created Lhambi, a footwear and accessories brand committed to celebrating women of all sizes, giving them confidence and freedom to express themselves. From its first collection, Lhambi established a reputation for combining elegance with technical precision, ensuring that every pair of shoes fits beautifully and feels comfortable. What began as a personal solution has grown into a globally recognised brand, featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour Magazine, BellaNaija Style, and even on the cover of Fashion Magazine NYC. Amaka’s journey also demonstrates her commitment to global collaboration and the elevation of Nigerian talent, as she carefully selects ateliers and partners who share her values of craftsmanship, quality, and representation.

On 30th November 2025, Amaka will reveal her most intimate and intentional shoe collections to date, The Bond Edit. Inspired by the quiet rituals and meaningful connections between women, mothers and daughters, sisters, and friends, the collection celebrates love, care, and shared moments. For the first time, Lhambi introduces mini versions of select designs, honouring mother-daughter bonds in a unique way and emphasising the brand’s dedication to representation across generations. Every element of the collection, from colour palette to textures, has been thoughtfully considered to communicate warmth, strength, and emotional connection.

Handcrafted with precision in partnership with a Brazilian atelier, the collection blends bold and classic silhouettes in fuchsia, soft pink, red, gold, army green, espresso brown, and black, using satin, suede, metallic finishes, and speciality leathers. Every piece reflects Amaka’s dedication to comfort, confidence, craftsmanship, and soft luxury. The attention to detail ensures that larger sizes retain structural integrity and elegance, creating shoes that are as technically precise as they are visually striking.

“I wanted The Bond Edit to honour the gestures and moments that connect women every day,” says Amaka. “These are the unseen acts of love and care that shape our lives, and fashion is a way to tell that story.”

The collection will be available in person at the Lhambi store, 3a Kafayat Abdulrazaq Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria. You can also order online through their website www.lhambi.com or via Instagram @lhambi. For inquiries, contact +234 803 9864 326.
