The Unstoppable Journey of Dr. Oluwanifemi Blessing Olawande

Dr. Oluwanifemi Blessing Olawande has been officially inducted as a medical doctor, marking the fulfilment of a dream she first nurtured as a secondary school student after reading Gifted Hands by Ben Carson.

Though she initially gained admission to study Biochemistry at Babcock University after several unsuccessful attempts to enter medical school, her determination never wavered. Four years after graduation—and after three years of repeated setbacks—she finally secured admission to study Medicine, just as she was preparing for marriage.

Her journey through medical school was nothing short of remarkable. Despite missing tutorials and study groups at various points, she graduated without a single resit. She also welcomed three children during the course of her training, attributing her strength, perseverance, and success to the unwavering faithfulness of God and the support of her husband, family, mentors, and community.

Quoting 1 Thessalonians 5:24, Dr. Olawande described her induction as a testament to divine help and the power of resilience. She encourages others not to abandon their dreams but to hold firmly to God’s word and continue to declare it until their testimony becomes reality.

Dr. P. Daniel Olawande, her husband, celebrated the milestone as the culmination of a seven-year journey. He described her as strong, tenacious, bold, wise, and divinely strengthened, noting that while studying medicine, she authored four books, launched Phos Doxa Clothings, led a ministry, mentored many, and excelled in every role she carried. “I am proud of you, my Queen,” he said.

Similoluwa Sowunmi, one of her mentees, also expressed deep admiration. She described Dr. Olawande as visionary, audacious, and remarkably balanced—a leader who starts and finishes with excellence. “I’m delighted to finally call her Doctor Olawande. I’m super proud of you, Mama,” she said.
