Tetra Pak Unveils Next-Generation ‘Factory OS’ to Drive AI-Ready Food Manufacturing

Global food processing and packaging solutions leader, Tetra Pak, has launched Tetra Pak Factory OS, its next-generation Automation and Digitalisation (A and D) portfolio designed to make food and beverage factories AI-ready.

Unveiled at the ongoing Gulfood Manufacturing Exhibition in Dubai, the new suite of modular, open, and scalable smart factory technologies is expected to revolutionise food and beverage (F and B) production by delivering real-time, contextualised insights that support faster, smarter decision-making.

According to a recent comparative study, highly automated beverage factories record 20 per cent higher equipment effectiveness, 45 per cent lower product waste, and 20 per cent fewer packaging line stoppages compared to less automated facilities.

Yet, many producers still struggle to adopt automation due to limited digital expertise and the absence of holistic, end-to-end solution providers.

The newly launched Tetra Pak Factory OS bridges this gap by combining advanced digital technologies with the company’s deep industry experience to help manufacturers tackle cost pressures, meet sustainability targets, and prepare for AI-driven production.

Vice President, Automation and Solutions at Tetra Pak, Sean Sims, said: “Food and beverage producers today face tremendous pressure to deliver more with fewer resources—less water, less energy, less waste—while maintaining quality and reducing costs.
“Our next-generation portfolio transforms complexity into clarity. By combining contextualised data – the foundation of effective AI adoption- with high-performing automation, Factory OS gives producers the confidence to act decisively in an increasingly volatile market.”

At the heart of the new portfolio is a data integration platform powered by open technologies, analytics, and industry standards.

The platform connects equipment and systems across the factory, transforming fragmented data into a single, unified, real-time view.

This helps producers achieve consistent product quality, improve operational efficiency, reduce utility usage, and lower total cost of ownership.

Executive Vice President, Processing Solutions and Equipment at Tetra Pak, Charles Brand, described the launch as a bold step toward the future of manufacturing.

Brand said: “Tetra Pak Factory OS is more than a technology portfolio—it embodies our vision for the next decade and beyond. It enables producers to build the factory of the future, where resilience, efficiency, and sustainability work hand in hand.”

Developed in collaboration with Accenture, and supported by global technology partners such as Siemens, Rockwell Automation, and Inductive Automation, the Factory OS portfolio offers a flexible and scalable approach.

Producers can adopt automation at their own pace—starting small, expanding gradually, and tailoring solutions to specific business needs.

Other key features include standardised data collection across all equipment, regardless of brand or age; a unified user experience across production lines and control rooms; and digital applications for real-time monitoring of materials, quality, and asset performance.

Tetra Pak Factory OS is now available globally and is being showcased at Gulfood Manufacturing, Dubai, from November 4 to 6, 2025. For more information, visit: www.tetrapak.com/FutureFactory.
