WIOCC GROUNDBREAKING: GOV. OTTI HAS MADE ABIA A ONE STOP DIGITAL AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS HUB IN NIGERIA -KING CHINYERE

The Founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), and the traditional ruler of Ikwuorie Ancient kingdom,HRM King Apostle Dr Chibuzor Gift Chinyere says that The West Indian Ocean Cable Company (WIOCC), Africa’s Digital Backbone will set Abia on the peak of the digital economy, making it a one stop digital and telecommunications hub in Nigeria which will create more than 200,000 direct and indirect Jobs all over the State. He said that this landmark Fibre Duct Infrastructure Project will drive the state to digital inclusion.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony of WIOCC Abia State duct infrastructure project in Aba on Wednesday 29th October, King Chibuzor Chinyere said the event marked the commencement of a transformative infrastructure project designed to expand broadband access, enhance digital inclusion and improve last-mile connectivity across Abia State.

King Chinyere who is the facilitator that brought the multi National company to Abia State commended the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr Alex Otti for his Love , passion, and commitment to Abia dreams, describing him as God -sent Moses to liberate Abia from under-development. He says that His Excellency’s Dogged commitment in bringing development to the state has yielded results.

” His Excellency’s Dogged commitment in bringing development to every part of the state and his great resolve to make Abia a Peaceful state in Nigeria has endeared foreign investors to the state”

He said that Dr Alex Otti has attracted foreign investments to Abia State because of his investment -friendly approach and great transformational leadership strides.

He commended WIOCC for partnering with the state to drive Abia’s digital transformation agenda, emphasising Governor Otti’s commitment to enabling an environment for innovation and investment.

He noted that the project would play a critical role in attracting businesses, create jobs and improve the ease of doing business in the state.

He says that the project when completed will attract more investors to the state.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony, Dr Ayotunde Coker, CEO of Open Access Data Centers (OADC), A subsidiary of of WIOCC Group, highlighted the project’s significance in bridging the digital divide and advancing national broadband goals.

“Our partnership with the Abia State Government represents a shared vision to accelerate digital access and inclusion.

“This infrastructure will enable faster, more reliable connectivity that empowers communities, fuels entrepreneurship and strengthens economic growth,” he assured.

He said the Abia State Duct Infrastructure Project aligns with WIOCC’s mission to build open-access, carrier-neutral digital infrastructure that supports the delivery of next-generation connectivity and cloud service.

Presenting his address titled Taking Tomorrow, the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr Alex Otti says today’s event, the flag off of the duct infrastructure development project has been set up to highlight his commitment to the development of the State’s technology infrastructure outline.

He commended His Royal Majesty King Apostle Dr Chibuzor Gift Chinyere for his commitment to bringing today’s event to fruition and thanked him for all his love and support to the state.
Recall that the Executive Governor of Abia State His Excellency Dr Alex Otti has on 20th January 2025, signed an MOU with the WIOCC group to establish a statewide internet broadband connectivity and data centers in Abia.

The data centers will provide high -speed broadband connectivity through fiber optics with Digonce Policy that will Open opportunities for the entire South -Eastern region and the Niger Delta.
The Data center when completed will attract the likes of goggles, Microsoft, Facebook etc.
