Lions Club Renovates Ikosi Senior High School Library, Installs New President
It was a moment of celebration and community service in Lagos as the Lagos Victoria Boglo Lions Club commissioned a newly renovated library at Ikosi Senior High School, Ketu, and officially installed Lion Olufunmilola Oye, NLCF, as its new President for the 2025–2026 Lions Year.
The event, held at the school premises, attracted dignitaries from Lions International District 404B4, community leaders, educators, and members of the club, marking a significant milestone in the club’s commitment to education and youth empowerment.
The highlight of the ceremony was the commissioning of the fully renovated school library — a project championed by the newly installed president as part of her mission to promote literacy, learning, and community development.
The District Governor of Lions International District 404-B4 Nigeria, Lion Pharm. Adebowale Afolayan, MJF, NLCF, who commissioned the facility, applauded the club for its vision and dedication to service. He described the initiative as a “lasting legacy that will continue to empower future generations through access to knowledge and educational resources.”
In her inaugural address, President Lion Olufunmilola Oye expressed appreciation to the club’s leadership, members, and supporters for their unwavering encouragement and contributions toward the success of the project. She noted that the renovated library reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to the Lions’ global mission of humanitarian service and educational development.
“This project is a bold step toward inspiring a culture of learning, accountability, and community growth,” she stated.
The Lagos Victoria Boglo Lions Club, known for its impactful service projects, reaffirmed its commitment to the Lions International motto “We Serve.” Members pledged to continue supporting initiatives that promote literacy, healthcare, and social welfare across communities in Lagos and beyond.
With Lion Olufunmilola Oye now leading the club, stakeholders expressed optimism that the new Lions Year would usher in greater innovation, inclusivity, and service to humanity.
