The summit, which ran concurrently with the 80th United Nations General Assembly, brought together global dignitaries, investors, diplomats, and innovators from over 40 countries.

The Georgia Citizen Award was presented to Mr. Okubo in recognition of his outstanding civic leadership and cross-cultural diplomacy, while the AEMA Black Prize honoured his remarkable work in empowering youth, enabling inclusive investment, and bridging economic opportunities between Africa and the global North.

“Mr. Okubo represents the very best of Africa’s next-generation visionaries — bold, unrelenting, and globally relevant. These awards are a tribute to his work and a call to scale his impact even further,” said McEva Temofe, Convener of the AEGC 2025 Summit.
