Igbobi College Old Boys Association Elects New Executive Council at 2025 AGM

The Igbobi College Old Boys Association (ICOBA), has held its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elected new officers to run the affairs of the association.

The event, which was held at Rev. Angus Memorial Hall, Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos, drew distinguished alumni, dignitaries, and friends of the college who came together to celebrate a significant milestone in ICOBA’s enduring legacy of tradition, leadership, nobility, and service.

At the AGM, Chief Yomi Badejo-Okusanya was elected as the new President of ICOBA, while Mr. Femi Soremekun emerged as the 1st Vice President, Mr. Segun Adeyemi emerged as the new Secretary-General. In addition, Mr. Tunji Akinwunmi (Social Secretary) and Mr. Femi Bankole (Publicity Secretary) and a few others were returned unopposed, reflecting the confidence of members in their continued service.

In his inaugural address, Chief Badejo-Okusanya expressed deep appreciation for the mandate entrusted to him, noting that his election was a call to collective responsibility:

“This moment is not just about me but about the generations of Igbobians who have passed through these hallowed halls and contributed to the making of our nation. Together, we will strengthen ICOBA’s impact and ensure its values remain relevant for future generations.”

He further emphasized the uniqueness of the Igbobi College identity:

“Igbobi College is not just an institution. It is a tradition that distinguishes us as Noble Nigerians in thought, creed, and deed. This tradition must be preserved, protected, and promoted—and worn proudly as a badge, much to the envy of other alumni associations.”

The 2025 AGM reaffirmed ICOBA’s commitment to fostering unity among old boys while advancing the legacy of Igbobi College as a beacon of excellence in education and nation-building. The election of new officers marks another chapter in the association’s history of dedicated service, leadership, and continuity.

ICOBA extends heartfelt appreciation to all members who participated in the AGM and congratulates the newly elected officers as they embark on this important journey of service to the College and the nation.
