ACPN Declares October as Pharmacy Rx Emblem Month

The National Chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Pharm. Ezeh Ambrose Igwekamma, has declared October as Pharmacy Rx Emblem Month. He made this declaration during a press conference held on October 4, 2025.

According to him, this designation is not just symbolic but a recognition of the central role of community pharmacy in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of the Nigerian public.

He added that by dedicating this month to the emblem, ACPN is showcasing that community pharmacy represents a unique sanctuary where patients and the public can confidently access genuine medicines and professional pharmaceutical care.

Through this month-long celebration, ACPN aims to promote public awareness that every pharmacy bearing the Rx emblem is a trusted center of excellence in healthcare delivery; reinforce the bond between pharmacists and the communities they serve; and showcase the broad range of pharmaceutical and healthcare services that community pharmacies provide.

Ezeh urged the public to recognize that community pharmacies are often the first point of contact for millions of Nigerians seeking health solutions.

“Let us use this month to tell our story boldly: that community pharmacy remains the most accessible healthcare facility,” he said.

He further called on government, healthcare stakeholders, and the general public to support community pharmacists in their mission to deliver quality healthcare, protect lives, and build healthier communities.

“Together, let us make the Rx emblem shine as a trusted guide to safe medicines, professional care, and healthier living. May this declaration mark the beginning of a stronger, safer, and more people-centered community pharmacy practice,” he said.
