Lagos Chief Whip Forum, APC Leaders Pay Condolence Visit to LG Chairman Over Councillor’s Death

The Lagos State Chief Whip Forum, Friday paid a condolence visit to the Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, following the death of Ward F Councillor, Hon. Basirat Oluwakemi Mayabikan.
Led by the Chairman of its Board of Trustees (BoT), Hon. Eric Eninla Otinwa, the delegation of chief whips and deputies visited the council secretariat, where they were received by the 10th Legislative Arm, headed by Hon. Tunde James Oyeyiola, before proceeding to the office of the council chairman.
In a condolence letter presented during the visit, Otinwa described the late councillor’s life as impactful, noting that she left an indelible mark on humanity.
He prayed for her soul to be received with the same kindness she extended to others in her lifetime.
The visit coincided with that of a delegation of Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) executive members, including Dr. Adeola Jokomba, State Secretary; Folashade Bakare, State Legal Adviser; Chief Sonola, Assistant Treasurer; and Mr. Asipa Doyin Banjo, Financial Secretary, who also came to commiserate with the council chairman.
Both delegation, alongside members of the Somolu Legislative Council, later visited the family of the deceased councillor to offer their condolences. They expressed deep sorrow over her passing and prayed for strength for her family, friends and constituents. The Chief Whip Forum also presented a cash token to support the bereaved family.
