LP Faction Passes Vote of Confidence in Nenadi Usman’s Interim Leadership

Some factional stakeholders of Labour Party (LP) have passed a vote of confidence in the interim National Chairman of the party, Senator Nenadi Usman.

A press release by the Senior Special Adviser on Media to Senator Usman, Mr. Ken Eluma Asogwa, which was made available to THISDAY in Awka stated that

the endorsement was made in a well attended virtual meeting of stakeholders of the party.

He said, “The meeting unanimously commended the interim leadership of Senator Nenadi Usman and passed a resounding vote of confidence in her stewardship as Interim National Chairman.

“In light of recent developments within the political landscape – particularly as they concern the Labour Party – the meeting resolved to deepen its commitment to initiatives that strengthen democratic institutions and sustain the tenets of democracy in Nigeria.

“The party also restated its commitment to internal cohesion, democratic consolidation, and national development,” the short release stated.

As Ogwa said the meeting was attended by several stakeholders of the party including; the 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi; Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti; Interim National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman; Interim National Secretary, Senator Darlington Nwokocha; Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, Labour Party governorship candidate for Lagos State in 2023; among others.
