In reality, tourists can explore the dense rainforests which are lush and a bit intimidating if you’re not used to it. And when it comes to adventure, St. Lucia offers a lot of things to do like sea tours, hiking, camping, ATV Tour cruising and forest tours.

There’s something about the beaches near Anse Chastanet… they just make you stop, breathe, and forget about everything else for a while. You sort of just want to sit there and let time slow down. 2. Barbados

Another amazing Caribbean Island that ranks on number 2 in my list of Barbados. A lively culture, amazing food, and honestly, people seem genuinely friendly. 

Bridgetown’s colonial buildings sort of tell their own story, even if you’re only half-listening. 

The sandy beaches, like Crane Beach, feel endless. Rum shops everywhere. Some say Oistins Fish Fry on a Friday night is a must, and, well, I agree—at least I think I do, based on what everyone keeps saying! One visit, and you’ll know.

3. Aruba

Aruba isn’t just about beaches—though, Eagle Beach pretty much sets a gold standard. The desert landscape, those odd-shaped divi-divi trees, and the colorful Oranjestad downtown give Aruba a unique twist. Watersports are huge here (so if you’re into windsurfing, you’ll fit right in). Oh, and it barely rains. That’s got to count for something.

4. Jamaica

Now, Jamaica is a “must” for more than just reggae and jerk chicken, though, sure—those alone might do it for some folks. There’s something soulful about the place. Blue Mountains, for coffee lovers especially, is kind of the holy grail. Negril’s long beaches, the cliffs, the waterfalls—somehow everything feels alive with music and laughter. Not every beach is the same, though, and that unpredictability is maybe the best part.

5. Turks and Caicos

Grace Bay—just say those words and see the eyes of any seasoned traveler light up a bit. Turks and Caicos seem quieter than others on this list; it’s not wild, but that’s a perk. 6. Antigua

Trivia—did you know Antigua claims to have 365 beaches, one for each day of the year? It’s probably slightly exaggerated, but it sure feels possible when you’re driving around. Renting a car is highly recommended; it’s the only way to really see those beaches.

There’s world-class diving, Stingray City (where you can literally stand in the ocean and get surrounded by stingrays), plus coral reefs if snorkeling is your thing. The vibe here is upscale, but, you know, not snobby.

8. The Bahamas

Maybe cheating a bit, since the Bahamas is a chain of over 700 islands, but it feels wrong to exclude it. Nassau and Paradise Island get the most attention, but Exumas? The water is so clear it almost doesn’t look real, and swimming pigs are, well…swimming pigs. Some call it kitsch, but I think it’s kind of hilarious. The Bahamas definitely belong on any list of stunning islands to visit in the Caribbean this year.
