ECOWAS Youth Council Confers NMLA on Nigerian Tech Entrepreneur Seun Paul Olatunji
The West Africa Youth Council (WAYC), operating under the ECOWAS youth development framework, has conferred the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity on Nigerian technology entrepreneur and digital innovation strategist Seun Paul Olatunji.
The award, which also affirms his appointment as a West African Youth Role Model, recognises Olatunji’s sustained contributions to youth development and technology driven innovation across the West African region. The recognition was approved by the Council’s Board following recommendations from youth representatives across ECOWAS member states.
According to the West Africa Youth Council, the award acknowledges Olatunji’s proven leadership, integrity, and outstanding contributions to youth empowerment, particularly through digital technology, innovation strategy, and skills development initiatives.
Reacting to the recognition, Olatunji described the honour as a responsibility to deepen regional impact through technology led solutions.
“This award reflects the importance of integrity driven leadership and the role of technology in enabling youth inclusion and sustainable development across Africa,” he said.
Seun Paul Olatunji is the CEO & Creative Director of Naija Spirit Multimedia, a technology driven enterprise focused on digital innovation and development. He is also associated with MediAid Plus, a digital health tech platform, and Efiko NG, an edtech platform advancing access to learning and digital skills for young people.
The award presentation, held on 21 July 2025, forms part of the Council’s broader commitment to promoting leadership, innovation, and youth led development in line with ECOWAS regional objectives.
