In a bid to foster economic collaboration and sustainable development, the Commonwealth Business Women-Africa (CBW-Africa) has announced plans to host its highly anticipated International Summit in Lagos. The event, scheduled for March 8–11, 2025, will bring together key stakeholders from across Africa and beyond at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island.

Themed Synergies for Sustainable Prosperity: Uniting Trade, Health, Wellness, Technological Advancement and Clean Energy Solutions in Africa, the summit will provide a platform for leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and advocates from 28 Commonwealth nations to engage in critical discussions on Africa’s economic growth and development.

According to a statement issued by the President of CBW-Africa, Mrs. Ngozi Oyewole, the summit will be chaired by distinguished Kenyan entrepreneur and philanthropist Nana Wanjau. It is expected to serve as a catalyst for policy formulation, investment promotion, and innovation across key sectors.

“The summit will not only create a space for knowledge-sharing but also foster collaborations that drive economic transformation across the continent. We believe that by integrating trade, health, technology, and clean energy solutions, Africa can achieve sustainable prosperity,” Oyewole stated.

The First Lady of Lagos State, Her Excellency Dr. Mrs. Ibijoke Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour, further underlining the event’s significance. The summit has also garnered the support of strategic partners, including the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (led by Director-General Mr. Segun Ajayi-Kadir, MNI), the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (headed by Executive Secretary Aisha Rimi), and the MALPAI Foundation, under the leadership of Hajiya Aisha Bagudu.

A distinguished lineup of speakers is set to feature at the event, including the Iyalode of Lagos, Alhaja Bintu Fatima Tinubu, and Madam Funlayo Bakare-Okeowo, Vice President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Their insights are expected to enrich discussions on the role of women in business and economic development.

The summit will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to engage in high-level networking, explore business opportunities, and discuss policy frameworks that will shape Africa’s economic landscape in the years to come.

As preparations intensify, stakeholders and participants anticipate a landmark event that will reinforce Africa’s position in global economic dialogues while championing initiatives that drive inclusivity, innovation, and sustainable growth.
