Aluko Damilola Bags Art Industry Impact Award 2024
Creative Virtual artist Aluko Damilola has just been announced the winner of the prestigious Art Industry Impact Award by The Achievers Awards International 2024, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the African art ecosystem.
The award ceremony, held at the Oriental Hotel Ballroom, Victoria Island, Lagos state, Nigeria yesterday October 6th 2024, and had in attendance some of the most influential audience of industry players, creative pioneers, policymakers, stake holders of the arts and culture industry including, film, fashion, creative arts and digital technology. It was a night of glitz and glamour as the hall was packed with some of Africa’s brightest young creatives, disruptors, and innovators making remarkable impact across industries.
Aluko Damilola, the founder of SADG Frames, has distinguished himself through his creations as a multidisciplinary virtual artist, combining both traditional and digital media in story telling and abstract art. He founded SADG Frames, a digital art store with strong online presence and following, put together to promote and commercialize some of his masterpieces, including original canvas paintings, photographs, pencil drawings, AI Generated images, and other original art pieces tailored for modern spaces and collectors.
In Nigeria’s virtual art space, Aluko is seen as both a gifted artist and a visionary entrepreneur, and has successfully redefined how abstract art communicates emotion and narrative, transforming walls into powerful storytelling platforms.
Speaking at the event, Damilola reflected on his artistic journey, which begin at a very young age. He shared that his passion for art was nurtured and inspired by his mother, who encouraged him by mentoring his early crayon and pencil artworks and how he share them with family members which he got motivation by their praises. He also noted that some of these childhood artworks still hang in the wall of his grandparents home till date and it serves as a constant reminders that continue to inspire his work as a virtual artist.
Upon receiving the award, Damilola thanked the organizers of the Achievers Awards International, his team at SADG Frames, and every single person who have supported him from the get go. He also spoke briefly about SADG Foundation, a philanthropic project he started some time ago, aimed to aiding the needy and less privileged within society with the income he makes as a virtual artist.
