But one particular individual has proven himself as a formidable force rising through the ranks over the years and growing to become a household name in the UK, and beyond. Daniel Okezue known as the Prolific MC is an embodiment of a theatre arts and entertainment masterpiece dishing out sides of Stage Plays, Comedy, and community engagements through performing arts.
Growing up in Lagos opened his mind and eyes to the bigger world and helped him navigate his journey before moving to Lagos State in 1998. Fast forward to 2007 he attended a training course in multimedia technology at SYL Multimedia. This training got him to get skilled in video editing, sound engineering and visual effects. And as fate would have it for it got him a media executive job at KingsWord Media House where he started producing weekly tv broadcasts called “Maximising Your Life” by Dr Kay Ijisesan on NTA Ibadan and MiTv Lagos between 2008 to 2010.
Exposure to Photography came in 2011 with a focus on art and cultural events. This ended up pivoting Daniel toward collaborations with other artistic creatives to produce pieces. And this collaboration birthed a breakthrough opportunity that saw him team up with a fashion designer, a makeup artist and a model to create some images that were displayed at the Nigerian Photography Expo and Conference (NiPHEC) in 2012/2013.
In 2014 he got another opportunity when he joined hands with other creatives to form a team to enter for the Fayrouz L’original National Competition where they made top ten finalists out of over 350 entries. Shortly after this he got casted for a role in his first ever theatre stage play appearance titled Yeshua Hanoztri directed by Nwando Alayande. All these journey taken saw to what has now turned to a vibrant career path running for over 10 years with over 25 unique theatre appearances.
With an impeccable sense of humor that was often on display during his early theatre performances, it was only natural for this talent to evolve into stand-up comedy. His transition began in 2018 with a debut performance that marked the beginning of a promising journey in the comedy scene. Since then, he has continued to captivate audiences with his sharp wit, relatable storytelling, and commanding stage presence, solidifying his place as a rising star in the world of stand-up comedy and theatre.
