KKF, BK, Center Partners to Sensitise Students on Drug Abuse, Illicit Trafficking

Brahma Kumaris & Kirtis Kare Foundation, Light House Center have partnered to sensitise students in Lagos State on the negative effects of drug abuse in the country.
The Founder, KKF, Kirti Sudhanshu, at a student march to join the rest of the world to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, said the event is about creating awareness and raising the concern for everybody to be aware about the negative effects of drug abuse and Illicit trafficking in the country.
The KKF boss said the sensitisation is aimed at using children to educate their parents, elders and the whole society, adding that children are very good learners.
“We need to give them the power to decide what is right and wrong. We are teaching to them to stand for what is right. This will also help them to discipline their food habits and as you are aware, food also is a dangerous for drug abuse,” she said.
She said combating drug abuse in the society is everybody’s responsibility and not just for the federal government, urging every citizen to take the fight against drug abuse seriously.
She added that both organisations are actively engaged in creating a peaceful society through an awakening awareness campaign at its spiritual university.
She pointed out that the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, observed annually on the 26th of June, is to raise awareness about the global issue of drug abuse and illicit trafficking, while highlighting the importance of preventing and addressing this menace for the betterment of society.
Also speaking, the Assistant, National Coordinator, Brahma Kumaris, World Spiritual University, Sister Gauthami Durga, said Brahma Kumaris, strongly believes that education, awareness, and spiritual growth play crucial roles in combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking effectively.
“With this event, we aim to bring together individuals and communities, focusing on promoting a drug-free lifestyle and creating a society that fosters peace, harmony, and well-being,” she stated.
In her words: “Our spiritual university, which serves as the platform for this event, provides a sanctuary for individuals to explore their inner selves and find solace in connecting with their spirituality. We strongly advocate for the understanding that we are peaceful souls, playing our roles in this journey of life, and ultimately returning to our Divine Father.”
On his part, the Additional Center Coordinator, Brahma Kumaris, Lagos BK Gagan, said through the enlightening teachings and guidance received at BK, it recognises that stress and struggle are transient aspects of life, which remind the University of its existence and its innate connection to the divine.
“Our belief in being God’s Souls serves as the foundation for our efforts to create a bridge of understanding and friendship between India and Nigeria,” he stated.
“We firmly believe that by nurturing the Indo NAIJA relationship, we can contribute towards a happier and healthier world. Our event will foster a sense of inclusivity, harmony, and awareness as we collectively strive to combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking, promoting a peaceful and drug-free society,” he added.
