Police Confirm Adejobi as Spokesperson

The Inspector General of Police (IG) Usman Alkali Baba, has confirmed the appointment of  CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, as the 25th  substantive Public Relations Officer (PPRO)of the Nigerian Police Force.

The statement announcing the confirmation was signed by Public Relations Unit Administrative Officer Anjuguri Manzah yesterday.

By the development,  Adejobi  has completely replaced Frank Mba, who took a course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Plateau State.

Prior to his confirmation,  Adejobi was the interim force PRO since Mr. Mba’s departure in February.

Adejobi  graduated with combined honours in Archeology and Geography from the University of Ibadan. He  also has a master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the same University.

He had a long term as Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State Police Command from 2008 to 2016. He also served as PPRO Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, in 2016 and PPRO, Police Command Lagos State Police between September 2020 and August 2021, when he was appointed to replace former PRO Force, CP Frank Mba.  Adejobi has carved out a niche for himself in Police Public Relations Management with the experience he has gained serving as PPRO in different Police Commands and Zones for more than a decade.

He also served as Operations Officer, OC Anti Bank Robbery and Anti Pipeline Vandalism, Sagamu Division from 2006 to 2008; Administrative Officer, Operations Department, Police Headquarters, Ogun State in 2008; Operations Officer, Operations Department, Ikeja Lagos State Command in 2017; Management Staff, Ikeja Police College; and as Personal Assistant to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Operations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
